Michael Schwartz, founder of Hometown Heroes, visited the #HipNJ studio to talk about his Garden State charity. Michael and I go way back to days before #HipNJ. Long Shot Productions filmed his event videos, which you can view two of below! Hometown Heroes provides help to those struggling with domestic violence, drug abuse, homelessness, and more. They are doing spectacular things, and it was a pleasure to speak with Michael and […]

I immediately formed a bond with media entrepreneur Lavene Gass, who visited the #HipNJ studio to discuss her secrets to success. A friend introduced Gass to vision boards, which I love. I keep one in my office, and Carla, the protagonist of my novel, Ten Years Later, uses one too! Vision boards are an amazing tool, but Gass reminds us that just because you make one doesn’t mean everything automatically […]

I stopped by Cranford High School to check out their 2017 Senior Fashion Show. I spoke to the students, checked out the fashion, and sold copies of my debut novel, Ten Years Later. With dresses from stores including Lord & Taylor and David’s Bridal, the students were dressed to impress. You haven’t been to a party until you’ve been to an Avison Young party! I went to Horseshoe Tavern in Morristown to commemorate 20 years of St. Patrick’s Day celebrations with the commercial real estate powerhouse. There was food, music and great company. What else could you ask for? To learn more about Avison Young, click here, and watch the Hip New Jersey segment here.

I went to Bloomingdale’s Short Hills to shop for my book release party, taking place October 8th. Marlie Massena, PR Manager of Bloomingdale’s Short Hills, helped style me for the big event. First, I tried a black Dress The Population sheath dress, paired with 100% Bloomingdale’s Sarah Jessica Parker pink heels. Next, a black French Connection lace dress with panel detailing and mini cutouts. I loved this dress. The next dress was a little out of my comfort zone. I usually don’t do floral, […]

Let’s #Flashback to when I spoke with Lauren Pizza, author of “Meant to Be: The Lives and Loves of a Jersey Girl.” The story behind this book might shock you! A few years back, Lauren went to a palm reader who told her she needed to start developing her writing. The reading confused Lauren because she had never really written before, but when Lauren got home, she started writing. “Long […]

I couldn’t wait for Gina Royale, one of the Garden State’s rising stars on the music scene, to join me in the #HipNJ studio. Royale started her first EP, Heir, when she was a senior in high school. Then, she went to William Paterson and began work on her second EP titled Brain Waves, which was released June of 2016. Impressive, I know. “Battle Cry,” an anthemic song about a falling out with a friend, stands out […]

Clara Maass Medical Center Foundation’s Golf Invitational took place at the Montclair Golf Club in West Orange, and I was lucky enough to attend! I spoke with the man of the hour, former New York Giant David Diehl, about the event. “This isn’t about me,” Diehl said. “Everyone is out here for the single purpose of helping change peoples’ lives and changing the lives of children so they could still pursue their dreams and let them […]

Marlo Berliner, author of The Ghost Chronicles, sat with me in the #HipNJ studio to discuss the book’s sequel, The Ghost Chronicles 2. I always love talking with fellow NJ authors, and Berliner did not disappoint! “It’s the paranormal discovery of the 90’s movie, Ghost, meets the forbidden romance of Twilight,” Berliner says of the series. She didn’t originally see the books as a romance. “That came after I stayed at the Angel of the Sea in Cape May.” […]
